head Coach - EJ Quijano

Coach EJ grew up in western Kentucky swimming for the Hopkins County YMCA out of Madisonville, Kentucky and Pennyrile Aquatic Club out of Hopkinsville Kentucky.  EJ’s high school swimming career also started in Madisonville but then moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee where he swam for the McCallie School and Scenic City Aquatic Club. During 4 years as a student athlete in college for Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, EJ served as team captain for 3 years, broke a school record, and was a multiple conference finalist. EJ also taught swim lessons all 4 years at Transylvania Sports Camp, coached the swim team at Winchester Country Club and was a pool manager for Idle Hour Country Club. EJ graduated from Transylvania in 2015 with a degree in Spanish Writing and Literature and a minor in Biology. After a brief stint in the corporate world, EJ is excited to contribute back to the sport that brought him so many awesome memories and experiences. He is currently the Head Age Group Coach with the Lexington Dolphins and has been with Henry Clay since the fall of 2017. Other than swimming, EJ loves his dogs Albus and Cedric, hunting, and fishing!


Head Coach - Lindsey Quijano

Lindsey has been swimming since she could walk.  A native of Shelbyville, Kentucky, Lindsey started swimming at the age of 6 for the Shelbyville Country Club, and at the age of 12, she started swimming year-round for the Shelby Sharks.  Lindsey graduated from Shelby County High School as a 6-year varsity athlete and proceeded to take her swimming career to Transylvania University.  At Transy, Lindsey was a 4-year varsity athlete, 2-year team captain, multiple conference finalist, and individual school record holder.  After graduating with a degree in political science, Lindsey went on to attend law school at the University of Kentucky. Similar to Coach EJ, Lindsey left the corporate world to pursue her passions in coaching and fitness and is now the Director of Instructor Experience for CycleBar franchises in Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee. She has been with Henry Clay since the fall of 2017. In addition to swimming, she enjoys triathlons, cycling, and hot yoga.


Dive Coach - Emily Krebs

Emily was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. After 7 years as a gymnast, Emily started diving lessons at UK Aquatics and fell in love. She joined Kentucky Dive Club in 1999 and competed in multiple diving meets over the years, including Summer and Winter Nationals for US Diving. She also dove for Lafayette High School, was a four-time letter winner, and was the 2006 Kentucky State Champion. She continued her diving career at Brigham Young University in Utah where she received All-Conference honors in 2007, 2008 and 2010. She also received the Academic All-Conference award and MWC Scholar Athlete Award in 2007, 2008 and 2010. After completing her four years of eligibility, she was an assistant dive coach for a year. She graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science and minors in French and Visual Arts. After marrying her high school sweetheart, they moved back home to Lexington. She is currently a fitness instructor at local gyms as well as a stay-at-home mom to four fabulous kids. She is excited to get back to the pool and share her love for diving!
